Barnabas Financial Ministry

The purpose of our workshop is to teach people how to live within their means, get out of debt, set up a budget and track their expenses using simple, workable, proven techniques and systems. This specialized workshop includes all the forms, practical help and materials necessary to begin the process of managing, controlling and tracking personal finances.

The workshop also covers common problem areas, which may include:

  • Understanding cash-flow and its impact upon the process
  • How to get started when expenses exceed income
  • Budgeting for the self-employed or when income fluctuates
  • Tips and planning for the categories of gifts, clothing and unexpected expenditures
  • Couples learning how to resolve issues of wanting to budget or track expenses in differing ways.
  • As time permits, children’s budgets/allowances, or other relevant topics can be addressed.

Suggested Formats & Times:

A live workshop that teaches and demonstrates using practical budget forms. Adequate time for questions, idea sharing and open discussion is included. Many churches and people find it helpful to have hosted or attended our “Getting Your Financial House in Order” (biblical principles) seminar prior to hosting or attending a budgeting workshop. However, that is not a prerequisite. The majority of people tend to have greater success following through on the “practical” when they first understand God’s principles of “the why we do it.”

Workshops allowing 6 to 7 hours are best. Formats and times are usually the same as our Get Your Financial House in Order Seminar. However, this material can be taught in as little as 3 hours if we quickly teach the material and limit questions; simply teaching the process and forms. As stated in the Get Your Financial House in Order section, another option is to add 3 hours of budgeting to the end of our Get Your Financial House in Order Seminar; adding one extra session.
